The suites are on the top floor accessed via 100 steps or "the first registered lift" in Palermo! The ladies at reception were lovely & arranged a transfer to the airport for me. There were city maps ( not all places provide these ) and other info available & a great collection of books to browse through re: sights of Palermo. Breakfast outside on the terrace was amazing with a vast choice of drinks, sweet & savoury items which was individually prepared for you.

Perfect location. Very nice people. Cute balcony, surprisingly good sound isolation! We were right above a restaurant and it did not disturb us at all. Generous 1,5L of water in a fridge was a pleasant surprise, no need to run to buy it. Teapot, there was quite a selection of tea bags and instant coffee. Breakfast in a bar across the street was very good, you can choose 3 things (we had a cappuccino and 2 pastries of our choice each).

I'd highly recommend anyone who is looking for a cost-effective place to stay to look no further than La Maison del Sole. Good internet connection, all necessary amenities in the room, bathroom clean and good shower, Piero himself is very attentive. I had had difficulty opening the door below as the building is quite old and Piero informed me instantly of how to open it (word to the wise: you have to twist well as the lock is old).

The space was clean & comfortable. 10 mins walk to an arch that starts you along via Vittoria Emanuele. Very affordable pizzeria 5 mins down street.

The B&B is on a quiet and elegant boulevard near the harbour, with lots of restaurants nearby. The room was charmingly old world, large and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was quite basic, but fine for our needs and personally served by Mauro whose passion for Palermo was infectious.
